Proto-Finnic
Etymology
From Proto-Uralic *täwde. Cognates include Hungarian tele (“full”). The word has also been compared with Proto-Samic *tievë (“full”), which is of Germanic origin, but morphologically an analysis as *täü-ci is not possible: no nominal derivative suffix **-ci exists.
