Etymology

From Proto-Celtic *kriɸmos, from *kriɸ- (body) (whence also Middle Irish crí) + *-mos, from Proto-Indo-European *krep- (body) (compare Latin corpus (body), Old English hrif (belly, womb) (modern English riff), and Sanskrit कृप् (kṛ́p, form, shape)).[1] Doublet of *korf.
