In the past, many people from Đàng Ngoài went down the boat to the Soài Rạp River, meet the reverse current, so they built rafts on the river, serving as a place for cooking and living for the whole fleet. Nowadays, "nhà bè" are only seen in the Mekong Delta but are no longer seen in HCMC.
