A calque of Italian Regno delle Due Sicilie and Latin Regnum Utriusque Siciliae, both named in reference to the 1816 creation of the state as the personal union of the Kingdom of Sicily before Faro, the formal name of the Kingdom of Naples, and the Kingdom of Sicily beyond Faro, the Kingdom of Sicily proper.
