Etymology
Named after a watercourse located to the east of Tholen, derived from a compound of Middle Dutch heen (“sea clubrush, Bulboschoenus maritimus”) and -drecht (“ferry, watercourse”). The initial H- was gradually lost, and the hydronym was reinterpreted to eendracht (“concord”).
