Attested as Biddinghuizen (vroeger Bremerberg genoemd) in 1959. Named after a former settlement, the name of which is first attested in 793 and which derives from Old Dutch *Bidin (“a personal name”) suffixed with the collectivising suffix -ing- and the plural form of huis (“house”).
