From Avestan π¬€π¬’π¬­π¬€βΈ±π¬¨π¬€π¬Œπ¬₯π¬Œπ¬Œπ¬Žβ€Ž (aΕ‹ra.mainiiu), from π¬€π¬’π¬­π¬€β€Ž (aΕ‹ra, β€œevil”) + π¬¨π¬€π¬Œπ¬₯π¬Œπ¬Œπ¬Žβ€Ž (mainiiu, β€œspirit”). Doublet of Ahriman.
