from Proto-Albanian *-sta- from Proto-Indo-European *-stā.[1] unrelated to Slavic -ište as it developed from Proto-Slavic *-išče.

-isht
- Forms adverbs from adjectives. Frequently corresponds to English -ly
- absolut + -isht → absolutisht (“absolutely”)
- Note that adjectival suffixes are dropped when -isht is added.
- përgjithshëm + -isht → përgjithësisht (“generally”)
- jashtëzakonshëm + -isht → jashtëzakonisht (“unusually”)
- absolut + -isht → absolutisht (“absolutely”)
