-ѧ • (-ę) n

Denominal nominalizing suffix used to form a neuter noun, usually a diminutive denoting the young of animals.
- козьлъ (kozĭlŭ, “he-goat”) → козьлѧ (kozĭlę, “kid”)
- отрокъ (otrokŭ, “child, servant”) → отрочѧ (otročę, “child”)
- осьлъ (osĭlŭ, “ass”) → осьлѧ (osĭlę, “young ass”)

Lunt affirms that this suffix was “surely productive” in the OCS period, although few words formed with it are attested.
