Alternative forms

  • 𒀭𒌓 (dUTU /Šiuini/) (heterogram)

Etymology

Possibly a Hittite borrowing: compare Hittite 𒅆𒄿𒌑𒍑 (ši-i-u2-uš /šīūš/, god), dative-locative singular 𒅆𒌑𒉌 (ši-u2-ni /šiuni/). Alternatively, connected with Hurrian 𒀭𒅆𒈪𒄀 (dši-mi-gi /Šimigi/, the Hurrian Sun God).

Proper noun

𒀭𒅆𒄿𒌑𒄿𒉌 (dši-i-u2-i-ni /Šiuini/)

  1. Shivini (the Urartian Sun God)
