From Old Persian [script needed] (hakaram, “once”), from Proto-Iranian *ha-karam (“once”), from *ha- (“one, single”) + *karah (“time(s)”), with the first component related to Proto-Iranian *ham- (“together”).[1][2][3] Compare Parthian 𐭀𐭊 (ag).
