Altered form of Proto-Germanic *sehtΓ΄ (whence Old Norse sΓ©tti and Old High German sehto) with the *s inserted by analogy with ππ°πΉπ·π (saihs, βsixβ). Identical in formation to Old English sixta and Old High German sehsto, and close to Koine Greek αΌΞΊΟΞΏΟ (hΓ©ktos), which it translates.
