(grammar) adversative, contrastive; a particle or conjunction that joins two phrases and indicates that their meanings contrast or differ from one another or from expectation

  記述(きじゅつ)量(りょう)がふえてきている。逆接(ぎゃくせつ)と順接(じゅんせつ)の接続(せつぞく)助詞(じょし)の使用(しよう)が目立(めだ)つ。
  Kijutsu ryō ga fuetekiteiru. Gyakusetsu to junsetsu no setsuzoku joshi no shiyō ga medatsu.
  There is increasing description. The use of contrastive and resultative particles is noteable.
