Etymology

From English parts. Compare Cantonese parts.

Noun

パーツ • (pātsu)

  1. parts, often used in the names of machine part factories

Usage notes

The symbol was originally intended to represent バーツ (baht), with the characters arranged in a square box. However, it was erroneously registered in Unicode as パーツ. This is a ghost character that is never used.[1]
