Usage notes
When doubled to indicate extreme lenition, ⟨◌᷂᷂⟩, the diacritics should be adjacent, not stacked.
An illustration from the Unicode proposal:[1]
- /p͈ada/ 'grind' (tight lip closure on p and no aspiration)
- /p᷂ada/ 'sea' (looser lip closure on p and a minimum of aspiration)
- /pʰada/ 'digging' (full aspiration)
