Cognate with Thai ทราย (saai), Northern Thai ᨪᩣ᩠ᨿ, Lao ຊາຍ (sāi), Khün ᨪᩣ᩠ᨿ, Shan သၢႆး (sáai), Tai Nüa ᥔᥣᥭᥰ (säay), Ahom 𑜏𑜩 (say) or 𑜏𑜩𑜤 (sayu), Zhuang saiz, Nong Zhuang saiz.
