ოქროჲ

Old Georgian

Etymology

From Proto-Kartvelian *okro- (gold).

Alternatively, the word may derive from Ancient Greek ὠχρός (ōkhrós, pale, wan; pale-yellow, sallow; yolk; colour yellow), meaning the cognates (see ოქრო (okro)) could be borrowings from Georgian.

Noun

ოქროჲ • (okroy)

  1. gold
  2. silver, money

Descendants

  • Georgian: ოქრო (okro)
  • Bezhta: окко (okko), окро (okro)
  • Tsez: укру (ukru)
