Usage notes
When it is solely used with a consonant, it produces /aː/. It is also used as a vowel component to produce other sounds as follows:
- ◌ำ becomes /am/, or sometimes /aːm/. There is the complete glyph for convenient typing.
- เ◌า becomes /aw/, or sometimes /aːw/.
- เ◌าะ becomes /ɔʔ/.
