Etymology

From Sanskrit इन्द्रधनु (indradhanu, rainbow, literally Indra's arrow; Indra's bow), from इन्द्र (indra, Indra) + धनु (dhanu, arrow; bow), equivalent to Thai อินทร + ธนู (tá-nuu). Compare Pali indadhanu, from which Modern Khmer ឥន្ទធនួ (ʼĕntôthônuŏ) is derived.
