Derived from Sanskrit अकर्मन् (akarman). Structurally, from Bahuvrīhi compound of অ- (o-) + কর্মা (korma), or, by Bengali prefixation of অ- (o-) + কর্মা (korma), or alternatively, by Bengali suffixation of অকর্ম (ôkôrmô) + -আ (-a).
