     tátsavitúrváreṇyaṃ bhárgo devásya dhīmahi.
     dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt.

     Let's hold in mind the praiseworthy light of the divine Savitṛ,
     Who, we pray, inspire our thoughts.
