Compare यदा (yadā), कदा (kadā). First element from Proto-Indo-European *to-. If it is a direct cognate of Lithuanian tadà (“then”), it should reflect a PIE word *todéh₂ (“then”),[1] but this presents phonetic issues: see kadà.
