Cognate with Konkani जाग्चे (zāgce), Gujarati જાગવું (jāgvũ), Hindi जागना (jāgnā), Sindhi جَاڳَڻُ / जाॻणु (jāɡ̈aṇu), Punjabi ਜਾਗਣਾ (jāgṇā) / جاگنا (jāgnā), Nepali जाग्नु (jāgnu), Bengali জাগা (jaga), Assamese জাগা (zaga).
