Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘄𑘓 (uca), 𑘄𑘽𑘓 (uṃca), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀉𑀘𑁆𑀘 (ucca), from Sanskrit उच्च (ucca). Doublet of उच्च (ucca). Cognate with Gujarati ઉંચું (uñcũ), Punjabi ਉੱਚ (ucca) / اُچّ (ucc), Hindustani اُون٘چَا (ū̃cā) / ऊँचा (ū̃cā), Bengali উঁচু (ũcu), Dhivehi އުސް (us).
