ܟܵܠܹܐ • (kālē) (present participle ܟܠܵܝܵܐ (klāyā), past participle ܟܸܠܝܵܐ (kilyā))

1. (intransitive) to stop, come to a stop, to come to a standstill

   ܟܠܝܼ (klī, “halt!, stop!, whoa!”)

   ܟܠܹܐ ܠܝܼ ܠܢܝܼܫܲܢܩܹ̈ܐ ܣܡܘܿܩܹ̈ܐ.

   klē lī l-nīšanqē smōqē.

   I stopped at the red traffic lights.

   ܫܓ݂ܘܼܫܝܹ̈ܐ ܒܸܬ ܟܵܠܝܼ ܐܝܼܡܲܢ ܕܫܘܼܪܛܵܐ ܥܵܒ݂ܹܪ.
