      ابراهیم ادهم را گفتند اندر دنیا هرگز شاد شدی گفت دو بار، یکبار نشسته بودم کسی فراز آمد و بر من شاشید و دیگر بار جائی بودم یکی فراز آمد و سیلی بر گردن من زد.
      ibrāhīm-i adham rā guftand andar dunyā hargiz šād šudi guft du bār, yekbār nišasta būdam kasē farāz āmad u bar man šāšīd u dīgar bār jāyē būdam yakē farāz āmad u sīlī bar gardan-i man zad.
      Ibrahim ibn Adham was asked, "Have you ever been happy in the [mortal] world?" He said, "Twice. The first time, I was seated. Someone came up to me and pissed on me. The other time, I was at a certain place. Someone came up to me and slapped me on the nape."
