From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (spwlyk' /⁠spurrīg⁠/, entire, complete, perfect), from Proto-Iranian *uc- + *pr̥Hnáh (full, filled)[1]. Compare Old Armenian սպառ (spaṙ, completion), an Iranian borrowing.
