An Aramaic variant form — unattested there like the sources of شَاقُول (šāqūl, plumb line), كَافُور (kāfūr), سَاهُور (sāhūr, sheath of the moon after a saros) etc. bearing the same pattern — modified from the one which is the source of زِئْبَق (ziʔbaq, mercury, quicksilver).
