Etymology

An old borrowing of Aramaic חֲזִירָא (ḥăzīrā) / ܚܙܺܝܪܳܐ (ḥəzīrā), akin to Hebrew חֲזִיר (ḥăzīr) and Ugaritic 𐎃𐎐𐎇𐎗 (ḫnzr), and Akkadian 𒄷𒍣𒊏 (ḫuzīru) is a rare borrowing particular to Old Assyrian.
