Etymology 1
Inherited from Proto-Turkic *orgak (“sickle”), from *or- (“to reap”), the same root of اورامق (oramak, “to reap”); cognate with Azerbaijani oraq, Bashkir ураҡ (uraq), Kazakh орақ (oraq), Kyrgyz орок (orok), Tatar урак (uraq), Turkmen orak, Uyghur ئورغاق (orghaq) and Uzbek o'roq.
