Etymology
Uncertain. Possibly simply פֿײַן (fayn) + קוכן (kukhn), however Feinkuchen is not attested in German. Alternatively, an alteration of פֿאַנקוכן (fankukhn) (i.e. פֿאַן (fan) + קוכן (kukhn)); see German Pfannkuchen. Compare also Vilamovian faonküch (“scrambled eggs”).
