נָדִיב • (nadív)

  1. (of a person or similar) generous, giving, liberal (willing to give or share beyond what is expected)
    • Tanach, Proverbs 19:6, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:
      רַבִּים יְחַלּוּ פְנֵי־נָדִיב וְכָל־הָרֵעַ לְאִישׁ מַתָּן׃
      Rabím y'ḥallú f'nei nadív v-khol ha-réa' l-ish matan.
      Many will entreat the favour of the liberal man; And every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
  2. (biblical) nobleman, prince

      לְהוֹשִׁיבִי עִם־נְדִיבִים עִם נְדִיבֵי עַמּוֹ׃
      L'hoshiví 'im n'divím 'im n'divei 'amo.
