גידל / גִּדֵּל • (gidél) third-singular masculine past (pi'el construction, passive counterpart גודל / גֻּדַּל)

1. (transitive) to grow, make bigger, magnify

     בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא גִּדַּל יהוה אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בְּעֵינֵי כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל

     On that day Jehovah magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel
