בלעדי
Hebrew
Preposition
בִּלְעֲדֵי • (bil'adéi)
Usage notes
- The preposition בִּלְעֲדֵי is typically only used in its inflected forms, that is, when its object is a personal pronoun. In other cases, the preposition בְּלִי (b'lí) is usually used instead. (For example, “without Ruth” is בְּלִי רוּת (b'lí rút), while “without her” is בִּלְעָדֵיהָ (bil'adéiha).) In a sense, therefore, בִּלְעֲדֵי can be said to provide the inflected forms of בְּלִי.
