From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (lcm /⁠razm⁠/, battle, war). Compare Persian رزم (razm, war, battle), Avestan 𐬭𐬀𐬯𐬨𐬀𐬥 (rasman, battle array, army). Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₃reǵ-.
