Perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *ye/owo-ro- (yoked animal), from *yew- (to tie together, to yoke), whence Sanskrit यौति (yaúti), युवति (yuváti, to bind to, to mix), Lithuanian jáuti (to mix).[1][2]
