շտրպաղանգ

Old Armenian

Etymology

An Iranian borrowing: compare Middle Persian [script needed] (ʾwštlgʾwplng /uštar-gāw-palang/), Persian شترگاوپلنگ (šotorgâvpalang, giraffe).

Attested only in Ašxarhacʿoycʿ as շտրպաշանք pl (štrpašankʻ), which is a scribal error for շտրպաղանգք pl (štrpałangkʻ).

    Synonym: ընձուղտ (ənjułt)
