From Proto-Indo-European *h₁su-, either via Proto-Iranian *hu- (“good”) or contaminated with it.
Prefix
հ- • (h-)
- an intensifying particle.
- հ- (h-) + սկայ (skay, “giant”) → հսկայ (hskay, “giant”)
- հ- (h-) + զօր (zōr, “power, might”) → հզօր (hzōr, “powerful, mighty”)
- հ- (h-) + մուտ (mut, “entering, going in”) → հմուտ (hmut, “skilful, experienced”)
- հ- (h-) + լու (lu, “the act of listening”) → հլու (hlu, “obedient”)
- հ- (h-) + ուրախ (urax, “happy”) → խրախ (xrax, “happy”)
