Etymology
From *yalañač (“nude, naked”), from Proto-Turkic *yạlïŋ (“naked; lone, solitary”).
Cognate with Kazakh жалаңаш (jalañaş), Kyrgyz жылаңач (jılaŋac), Tatar ялангач (yalangaç, “naked, nude”), Crimean Tatar calanğaş (“naked, barefoot”), Uyghur يالاڭاچ (yala'ngach) / يالاڭغاچ (yalangghach, “bare, naked”), etc.
