Proper noun
і́дыш • (ídyš) m inan (genitive і́дыша, uncountable)
Usage notes
- There does not exist an adjectival -скі (-ski) form for Yiddish. To express "in Yiddish", it should be written with на, as in the collocation, or as на мове ідыш (na móvje idyš, literally “in the Yiddish language”). To express "speak Yiddish", на is also used, instead of па-...ску.
- Similarly to Ukrainian (but differently to Russian), the noun is not inflected after на.
