From Ancient Greek φράσις (phrásis, “speech”) + -λογία (-logía). With -ло́гія (-lóhija) ending. Compare Russian фразеоло́гия (frazeológija), Belarusian фразеало́гія (frazjealóhija), Polish frazeologia.
