Etymology
From таш (taš, “stone”) + бака (baka, “frog”). Compare with Kazakh тасбақа (tasbaqa), Bashkir ташбаҡа (taşbaqa), Tatar ташбака (taşbaqa), Kyrgyz ташбака (taşbaka), Uzbek toshbaqa, Uyghur تاشپاقا (tashpaqa, “turtle, tortoise”).
