Etymology
From прах (prah, “dust”) + -о- (-o-) + смука́ч (smukáč, “sucker”) + -ка (-ka, feminine suffix). Compare Macedonian правосмукалка (pravosmukalka) which uses a similar construction.
Probably a calque of German Staubsauger.
