Etymology
Inherited from Old East Slavic мизгирь (mizgirĭ), мѣзгирь (mězgirĭ) once in ніти мѣзгиревыхъ тенетъ in the so-called Повѣсть о Стефанѣ Пермскомъ, on which basis one assumes a Proto-Slavic *mězgyrь, an archaism only attested in Great Russian and Ukrainian regiolects.
