Etymology
Inherited from Old East Slavic лошакъ (lošakŭ), from лоша (loša). By surface analysis, *лоша́ (*lošá) + -акъ (-ak). Cognate with Russian лоша́к (lošák), which is from Middle Russian лоша́къ (lošák), Old Novgorodian лошакъ (lošakŭ).
