Inherited from Old Church Slavonic вѧще (vęšte), вѧщьше (vęštĭše, “more”), from Proto-Slavic *vęťьjь, probably through intermediate forms *вещше (*veštše) → *ветше (*vetše). Compare Macedonian веќе (veḱe).
