Usage notes

This word can be translated in a variety of ways. Although in Yakut it is an ordinary transitive verb, in English there is a multitude of synonyms expressing (more or less) the same general idea.

Unlike its Russian counterpart запрещать (zapreščatʹ), it takes the accusative, not the dative.
