From Proto-Turkic *baytaq (“quite a lot; ample”) (see cognates below), consisting of *bāj (“rich; numerous”) + affix -taq/-teg for similarity/analogy.
Cognate with Kazakh байтақ (baitaq, “wide, immense”), Kyrgyz байтак (baytak, “faraway”), Southern Altai байтак (baytak, “abundant”), Yakut баайдаах (baaydaaq, “rich”).
