Etymology

An αντιδάνειο (antidáneio). -From medieval *τσαμπούνα (tsampoúna) for which see verb τσαμπουνίζω (tsampounízō)- borrowed from Italian zampogna (bagpipes), from Latin symphonia (music, symphony), from Ancient Greek συμφωνία (sumphōnía, music, symphony), already denoting "musical instrument" in Koine.[1] Doublet of συμφωνία (symfonía). Also see the medieval form τσαμπούρνα (tsampoúrna).[2]
