āknats
Tocharian A
Etymology
From Proto-Tocharian *āknātsā, probably corresponding to Proto-Indo-European *n̥-ǵneh₃-tih₂, from *ǵneh₃- (“know”), deriving its meaning from that of "ignorant". Compare Sanskrit अज्ञात (ájñāta, “unknown”), Latin īgnōtus (“unknown, ignorant”), Ancient Greek ἄγνωτος (ágnōtos, “unknown, also ignorant”). Compare Tocharian B aknātsa.
